The Basics to Solar Electric

Photovoltaic (PV) panels convert sunlight directly into electricity.

The system consists of Solar PV Panels, an inverter and a utility meter.  The Panels generate DC electricity, the inverter converts the DC electricity to a standard AC electricity.  This AC electricity is capable of supplying power to multiple types and sizes of electrical devices.  The Utility Meter will then track the solar electricity that your home will produce and therefore providing you a tool for measuring your return.  

The most common type of Solar System is a grid-tied electric system.  This system can generate power on-site to supply a home or business that will offset the usage from the utility company.

An off-grid solar system can also be very helpful as it will supply power to a remote home or area that would otherwise not have access to electricity by having a battery back-up.
