Residential Solar Thermal

Our residential customers love having the possibility of reducing their utility bills.  Solar thermal technology is the most economical way to heat your water for a range of purposes.

Do you use hot water to bath, wash dishes etc.?  Of course you do.  Solar Thermal is your solutions.  It can produce enough energy to meet 70-80% of your energy needs for hot water production.

In the cold winters or even in those cold mornings of the spring or fall, space heating surely helps out.  Solar Thermal can be used in conjunction with a radiant floor heating system to provide space heating for your property.  This is accomplished by having solar heated water running through the pipes underneath the floor boards.  This heat then radiates the heat upwards (and we all know that heat rises) to warm the entire room.

When the spring comes, the 1st thing you and your children think about is jumping into that pool!  Of course, the children start thinking about it while it’s freezing outside.  Solar Thermal is great for heating your pool.  It offers the most cost effective method for heating your pool and allows you to extend your swimming season or open up early.  Now your children can sleep better even in the fall and spring because they like to just hang out all day in the pool!

The Basics to Solar Thermal

Simply stated, Solar Thermal is a great way to heat water and the things that water heats!  It operates from a collector which is a box with copper piping that sits on your roof and collects heat from the sun.  It then transfers the heat to the water that runs through the piping.  This new heated water fills your storage tank, and acts as a pre-heater to your existing water heater.  The difference between heating water for in-home use verse heating your pool water is that the newly heated water coming from your piping will actually flow directly into your pool.  It’s kinda like filling up multiple hundreds if not thousands of pitchers of hot water and dumping it into your pool.  Kinda!

The two main types of solar water heating systems are Active and Passive systems.  The Active systems contain pumps and controls to regulate the flow and production of the hot water while the Passive systems actually operate without the use of pumps.
We will design the perfect solar thermal systems for your home.
