Residential Solar Energy Installation Process

A Solar Electric / PV (Photovoltaic) and / or Solar Thermal installation may seem like it's complicated, but it is actually a simple nine-step process carried out for you by Energy Solutions. The nine steps are:

Step One: Energy Solutions will have a  Solar Representative come to your home and conduct an evaluation for a Solar Electric / PV and/ or Solar Thermal installation.

Step Two: You will be given an estimate for an installation along with all possible solution choices and you can choose the best option for you.

Step Three: Ordering the equipment.  After we receive a deposit, all necessary equipment will be ordered.

Step Four: Energy Solutions will prepare all of your interconnection paperwork for your local utility.

Step Five: We will pull all necessary electrical and building permits for your jurisdiction.

Step Six: As soon as your equipment arrives, in usually 2-4 weeks, we will schedule the installation. The time for installation depends on the type of installation. A roof mounted system takes 1 to 4 days to install, depending on the size. A ground or pole mounted system will require a longer time frame.

Step Seven: Energy Solutions will set up your monitoring system for your Solar Electric / PV (Photovoltaic) installation

Step Eight: After the installation is complete, we will call the local jurisdiction and utility to complete their inspections. If necessary, the utility may require a new meter to be installed. This process usually takes two to four weeks, but may take up to eight weeks.

Step Nine: As soon as both inspections are completed, and the meter is installed, we can turn your system on, and you will be producing electricity!
